Unmount the drive so that no one other than you can use it

Hi! Friends here is a very useful trick for you to hide / unmount the drive without any passwords.

This trick is to just hide the drive:

  1. Click Start -> Run type regedit in the box and click OK
  2. Navigate to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ Explorer

  1. From the menu, navigate to Edit -> New -> DWORD Value
  2. Name the New Value NoDrives
  3. Next, Right click NoDrives and select Modify, now check the Decimal option and under Value Data enter a decimal value for the drive you would like to hide. For example to hide C you would enter 4. See the list below for more values:
    • A=1
    • B=2
    • C=4
    • D=8
    • E=16
    • F=32
    • G=64
    • H=128
    • I=256
  4. Click OK once finished and restart your PC to verify the drive letter is no longer displayed

Note: You can delete the key that was created to display the drive again.

Warning : This is not much secure as any one can open the drive if he / she knows the drive name. We can open it through run window or explorer by typing just the drive name (e.g. If G is hidden than also we can open it by typing G:)
Here is a trick to unmount the drive so that no one can use it.

CD Player Trick

Hi! friends following is a VB script for opening & closing the CD player continuously with just 1 click. Copy the code given below and save it with name xyz.vbs and enjoy the magic by executing it.

Set oWMP = CreateObject(“WMPlayer.OCX.7”)
Set colCDROMs = oWMP.cdromCollection
if colCDROMs.Count >= 1 then
do
For i = 0 to colCDROMs.Count – 1
colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject
Next ‘ cdrom
For i = 0 to colCDROMs.Count – 1
colCDROMs.Item(i).Eject
Next ‘ cdrom
loop
end if

This is just VB script so you can stop this by ending the process named “Wscript.exe” from the task manager. And these tricks might not work with windows Vista.

Lock – Unlock Folder without any Software.

Hi! Friends First of all Happy new year..

This is the trick to Convert ur folder in to control panel so that other users can not access that folder.

For that purpose first select a folder for example i’ll use a folder name movies in D drive “D:\movies\”

in the same drive u create a text file and paste the content given below without quotes.
ren movies movies.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}
and save it as loc.bat

again u paste content given below without qoutes in notepad
ren movies.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} movies
and save it as key.bat

now in D drive u can see two batch files loc and key.. when u double click loc the movie folder will change to control panel and whn u double click key the control panel will change to normal folder..

you need to change “movies” evrytime in each file with ur foldername.

To deny access to other users u can keep the “key.bat” file with you and whenever needed you can unlock the desired folder by placing that file in the same drive and double clicking on it.
