Diverging Diamond Interchange

What you see above is the “diverging diamond,” a freeway-and-surface-street interchange system that reduces the number of conflict points and, in theory, traffic delays, by having drivers switch to the left-hand side of the road temporarily. It’s a French innovation, but it’s starting to catch on in the states.

“Straddling” bus–a cheaper, greener and faster alternative to commute

A big concern on top of urban transportation planner’s mind is how to speed up the traffic: putting more buses on the road will jam the roads even worse and deteriorate the air; building more subway is costly and time consuming. Well, here is an cheaper, greener and fast alternative to lighten their mind up a bit: the straddling bus, first exhibited on the 13th Beijing International High-tech Expo in May this year. In the near future, the model is to be put into pilot use in Beijing’s Mentougou District (bjnews). (The official site of the high-tech expo put it as 3D fast bus)

Strange & Unique Google Earth Images

The black 1 is nothing but the shadow of the white cloud. . .

                 This is somewhere in the Nevada desert. The strange thing here are not the circles but the jet in the circle. Where did it come from? there is no runway. or just a shadow???? huh???

As much as I think over it, I just cannot figure out what the purple thingy is? Is it another plane if so why purple? why so close to the other plane? and why is it transparent?

                       This is someplace in the middle of the ocean. What is it. or what are they? There was some debate on this as some would say that this is a fish farm but that cant be as no fish farm I know looks like this and no fish farm is in the middle of the ocean and away from civilization.

                    This giant pink bunny (Google Earth coordinates 44.244273,7.769737) in Prata Nevoso, Italy, was built by a group of artists from Vienna, according to published accounts. It’s 200 feet long.
                   This giant Ford logo (Google Earth coordinates 42.302284,-83.231215) is found near Detroit, Michigan. Now you can imagine the size of this logo..!!!!
                  Here is an Image of the Microsoft HQ, Are they so obsessed with Direct X that they designed their buildings in the same design as the logo?
